RoSPA Advanced Drivers and Riders Cambridgeshire (RoADARC) are a friendly local group of RoSPA Advanced Drivers and Riders. Our aim is to reduce road traffic collisions by encouraging an interest in road safety through improving driving standards, knowledge and skill.
We have been in existence for over 30 years and have helped hundreds of drivers and riders. All our tutors are volunteers who give their time freely — because better driving saves lives.

The Police Systemof Vehicle Control
IPSGA is the cornerstone of advanced driving and riding. This systematic approach to hazards — developed by police driving schools — gives you a structured method to deal with every situation on the road safely, smoothly and efficiently.
Each phase is considered on the approach to every hazard. Our Tutors will guide you through mastering this system until it becomes second nature.
Information
Take, use and give information about the road situation. Use your mirrors, signals and position to communicate.
What can you see? What can't you see? What can reasonably be expected to happen?
Position
Position your vehicle to maximise safety, stability and visibility for the next phase of driving.
The correct road position gives you the best view and keeps you safe.
Speed
Adjust speed as necessary for the hazard. The right speed at the right time — no more, no less.
Use the brakes or acceleration sense to reach the appropriate speed for the hazard.
Gear
Select the appropriate gear for the speed and conditions. The right gear provides the right control.
Engage the correct gear to match your speed before reaching the hazard.
Acceleration
Apply appropriate acceleration to leave the hazard behind safely and smoothly.
Controlled acceleration stabilises the vehicle and moves you away from danger.

Annual membership is just £10. Sign up online through our membership portal and you'll be on your way.
Meet Your Tutor
You'll be assigned a qualified Tutor who lives nearby for free one-to-one sessions at times that suit you both.
Train & Progress
Over 10–15 sessions, master the Police System of Vehicle Control. Each session builds your skills, confidence and awareness.
Achieve Excellence
When ready, take the RoSPA Advanced Test to achieve Bronze, Silver, or Gold — proof of your advanced ability.
You don't have to take the test — even a few sessions will make you a safer, more confident driver or rider.
